Much love to my loyal Ukrainian readership

For some reasons, my post about the mystery message from inside the Downing Street bunker seemed to catch people's attention.  Quite a lot of hits from NZ (unsurprisingly) and the USA (a bit more puzzlingly, but hi there, USAians!!) and 76 views from the Ukraine.

I've celebrated my Ukrainian readers in the past, and it is good to see they are still there, still taking a peculiar interest in Brexit, as filtered through the twisted psyche of an expat Scot living in New Zealand.

Here's another nice Ukranian girl singing a traditional folk song:

Perhaps my Ukrainian following will join me in celebrating Scotland's 61-0 demolition of Russia in Japan.  I was slightly scared going into that match, after watching the Russians ask a few early questions of Japan.

Still in with a chance!

Я тебе люблю, Україна!

I have no idea if Babelfish rendered that correctly.  But I feel the need to acknowledge my loyal Ukrainian readership.  I do not know why my musings on stuff are followed more avidly there than in New Zealand.  Perhaps, like singing, it sounds more interesting and meaningful if you don't understand what is actually being said.

(We'll soon know if the number of hits from English speaking countries spikes because of the intriguing post title.)

And on the subject of music, here's a nice Ukrainian lass singing some of their traditional folk music:

I hope this isn't the Ukrainian equivalent of The Proclaimers or O.M.C.

People of Turkey, Ukraine, I salute you!

For some reason, I seem to be getting a lot of visits from Turkey.  Or perhaps that's just where IP address disguisers are presenting as at the moment.  But I like to thin the Ruritanian nature of New Zealand politics is immensely amusing to my Turkish comrades.  We are all brothers under the skin (or sisters) and we can all unite in laughing at John Key.

the second most popular source of hits is what is currently Ukraine, who I salute in all seriousness.  Having overthrown one insane, bloodthirsty crackpot, they are now being menaced by another.   It's all a bit like the 1930s, with 'civilised' Europe pointing the accusatory fingers at the nasty man and telling him to stop, and the nasty man cheerfully ignoring them and wondering how on Earth he is getting away with it.

The situation in Ukraine is what real Dirty Politics look like, when the oligarchs and power crazed decide to stop even pretending to play by the rules.
